I just finished trying vinegar in my home carpet cleaner. I thought it did a good job cleaning. I've got the windows open now trying to air the house out from the smell of vinegar. If you can tolerate the smell of vinegar, it's worth the $15-$20 I would have spent on a bottle of cleaner.
