You should keep an air pressure gauge in your car at all times and check the tire pressure every couple of months. Air pressure gauges only cost a few dollars and are worth the investment. In addition to fuel efficiency, keeping tires properly inflated helps you extend the life of your tires (tires that are underinflated can cause problems with the sidewalls as they push out further when underinflated and can eventually blow out as a result).
